When daily stress begins to pile up and overwhelm you, a relaxing Reiki session is exactly what you need. It is an energy healing therapy that helps keep you in a relaxed state.

Often described as a palm- or hands-on-body healing, Reiki is a relaxing treatment wherein the practitioner places his or her hands lightly on or over your body to facilitate the process of healing. It’s always administered in a quiet environment. Rest assured that at Replenish, our Reiki Master is also a Registered Nurse.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a spiritual healing art with its roots in Japanese origin. The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word (Rei) which means “Universal Life” and (Ki) which means “Energy”. Reiki is not affiliated with any particular religion or religious practice. It is not massage nor is it based on belief or suggestion.

Reiki is the life energy that flows through all living things. Reiki Practitioners understand that everyone has the ability to connect with their own healing energy and use it to strengthen energy in themselves and help others. It is believed that a person’s “ki” or energy should be strong and free flowing. When this is true a person’s body and mind is in a positive state of health. When the energy becomes weak or blocked it could lead to symptoms of physical or emotional imbalance.
A Reiki session can help ease tension and stress and can help support the body to facilitate an environment for healing on all levels – physical, mental, and emotional. A session is pleasant and relaxing and is often utilized for one’s personal wellness.

What To Expect During A Reiki Therapy Session

Reiki sessions are delivered in a peaceful, quiet setting where you will not be disturbed. Our professional Reiki Master practitioner Karyn, who is also a Registered Nurse, has a dedicated space for sessions, but is also experienced in creating that space when making house calls. Karyn frequently plays soft music during a session as a way of masking ambient noise, but of course you can let her know if you prefer silence.
A Reiki session is offered to a fully clothed client who is lying on a treatment table or sitting comfortably supported in a chair. You should let your practitioner know if you have any health conditions that might effect you lying flat on your back, or front, or if you have any areas that are sensitive to touch.
